EFT, also known as Emotional Freedom Technique, can help you tackle those emotional and physical bumps in the road. It's like a blend of ancient Chinese acupuncture with modern psychology know-how, all while using your fingers and verbalisation, all geared toward helping you kick those negative thoughts, beliefs, energies and habits to the curb.
No, but of course an open-mind is helpful.
Many studies on the efficacy of EFT have found their way into the prestigious pages of the American Psychological Association's (APA) journal, "Review of General Psychology". Showing EFT has positive effects on changing mood, behaviour, thoughts and habits.
Fear Not! Needles are NOT used, we use acupressure and gently tap on areas of the body including the hands, face and upper body to bring the body into balance.
Yes - It has been scientifically proven to reduce stress by lowering cortisol levels, lowering depression, anxiety, pain and increase immune markers.
EFT sessions are different to the usual talk therapies in that the client is not required to go into explicit detail about events, situations or issues in order to achieve a positive or profound shift.
Before becoming an EFT Practitioner, I was employed in Education and the Corporate sector. Whilst I love these environments I found life was becoming increasingly overwhelming, and I felt stuck, anxious, and burnt out. I went to counselling to find answers, and whilst on my search for help I stumbled upon EFT tapping. Coming from a business background I was quite skeptical about this funny acupressure technique. But, I was curious, (some would say desperate) and willing to give anything a try. Incredibly, I found relief from the overwhelm, anxiousness, limiting beliefs, racing mind and inability to sleep. My family saw a remarkable difference in the way I handled what was normally stressful situations.
I was hooked and so I became a practitioner. My perspective on life has changed greatly. I’ve seen this technique work for myself, and my clients. I believe our environment, experiences, and thoughts affect our overall well-being and with the rise in mental health struggles, especially post-lockdown, EFT tapping is a great tool to help manage life stressors, anxiety, fears, limiting beliefs, sleep and much more.
My passion for understanding how our brains and body respond to emotions, thoughts and feelings were helped by EFT and I want to share this technique with you to help you in your search to feel better about life and yourself.
The brain scan above shows increased activity in the left brain image when exposed to specific food stimuli.
After a series of EFT sessions, the right brain image shows a notable reduction in brain activity in response to the same food cravings.
Allowing a neutral response to the food stimuli and therefore a reduction in its consumption.
